Newsletter
Payment of $25 entitles you
to receive our newsletter, which is published 6 times each year. NoseNews
is full of information about our breed as well as stories written by
members, pictures of bassets, and the humor of our Editor. The Nose News is currently suspended. We hope to see it started again in the future.

Meetings
Attendance at at least
one meeting will make you eligible for full membership in the
club.
Besides the business
aspects of meetings, we try to have some fun, too.
Here two of our Club
experts are examining a battery operated, walking, "talking"
Basset Hound puppy for possible "show potential." Pet
quality dogs have a place with us too!
Membership will ensure
you get advanced notification of Basset Hound events like Field
Trials and Specialty Shows, sponsored by our club as well as by
the Northern California Basset Hound Club.

Field
Trials
Most Bassets like to
sniff out rabbits. If you have a Basset Hound, maybe your dog would like to join in on the
hunt!
Several members of
our club have had lots of experience and will help you learn. On Saturday of the Field Trial weekend, we offer competition for spay/neutered dogs.
Field Trialing is great
exercise for you and your dog, and it gives the dogs a good chance
to socialize with others of their own kind!
We sponsor two Field
Trials each year and people come from as far away as San Diego
to run their dogs at our Trials.

Specialty
Shows
Interested in getting
into showing a Basset Hound? Maybe you'd just like to learn more
about what a Basset Hound should really look like.
There's nothing quite
like being in a room with over 50 Basset Hounds all looking their
best at a Basset Hound Specialty Show.
We also have several
members in the club with years of experience showing their champion
dogs.
We sponsor a Specialty
Show every spring. The Club members get together to provide a
buffet lunch for the competitors--yummy!
The evening is a great
chance to see the best of our breed, talk with the owners and
since most of these professionals also breed their dogs, this
is a great opportunity to make contacts for obtaining a pup or
adult dog.

Rescue
We encourage newcomers to the breed to consider first rescuing or fostering a basset hound. We support the efforts of Golden Gate Basset Rescue. www.ggbassetrescue.org

Care
and Feeding
Our members have seen
it all. While your veterinarian should always be consulted in
an emergency, you'll find the combined knowledge of many years
of experience are a big help for minor issues.
We look forward to
meeting you!
